“Miss Bello, did you ever think you’d be where you are today in five years?”

Marie cleared her throat, smoothed down an invisible wrinkle in her black skirt, and reached for the cup of tea sitting across from her. After she had swallowed and the dryness in her throat gone, she smiled.

“Well for one, I always thought I’d be behind the camera, not in front of it.” Everyone laughed and Marie waited until they were done before continuing. “Five years ago, I was at a very dark point in my life…which you can probably gather from my songs.” She paused for a moment, her heavily rimmed eyes staring at a distant spot in the background, no doubt reflecting on the horrors she was speaking of from the past.

Marie blinked, forcing herself to return back to the present. She hadn’t thought about Kennedy and Jude and…Cameron in forever. “But I’m at a great point in my life right now. I love music, and my fans, and I’m very blessed to be where I am today. It’s been a struggle to get here but I wouldn’t trade that journey. It’s made me who I am today.”

The reporter stopped writing, said congratulations once again to Marie, and then stood up to go off to another interview. Marie breathed out slowly. She always got nervous when reporters tried to get the full story of her past. She never revealed what happened; just said she suffered a horrible loss and it turned her to the healing power of music. Or other crap like that.

A hand clasped down onto her shoulder and she squeezed it, smiling. She didn’t need to look up to see who it was. “Hi honey,” she smiled and stood up, wrapping her arms around his neck tightly. A diamond engagement ring glinted off her finger. “Let’s go home.”

Not sure if anyone checks this anymore, but…

I’d be interesting in bringing Marie back if others were as well. And we could set the time period to 10 years later - 10 years after graduation of high school - and see where our characters have ended up?

Just a thought. :)

I do, when I get the chance.  I’d love to do that!  Once I get internet, of course.  Which I should be getting it soon because we’re finally figuring out our financial situation and whatnot.

MEEP. So excited to see that somebody replied. :) You keep me posted because I’m really, really interested!
